Anti-Modern Slavery Statement

Our Commitment

Secure Flooring is committed to complying with Canadian laws and international standards aimed at preventing modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour, and other related human rights violations. We have a zero-tolerance policy towards any form of slavery or exploitation in our operations and supply chains and pledge to conduct business ethically and responsibly.

Our Policy

This statement is made pursuant to Canadian federal and provincial legislation addressing human trafficking and forced labour, including the Criminal Code of Canada provisions related to trafficking in persons and exploitation. It applies to all Secure Flooring business activities across Canada.

Understanding Modern Slavery

Modern slavery encompasses a range of serious human rights abuses, including:

  • Human trafficking: the recruitment, transportation, or harbouring of individuals through coercion, deception, or force for exploitation.

  • Forced labour: work or services extracted under threat or coercion without the individual’s free consent.

  • Labour exploitation: abuse, intimidation, or control of workers that violates their fundamental freedoms.

  • Restriction of movement or confinement of individuals.

Our Supply Chain Due Diligence

Secure Flooring undertakes ongoing due diligence and risk assessments of our supply chain partners to identify and prevent any instances of forced labour or trafficking. We require all suppliers to adhere to strict ethical standards and human rights practices consistent with Canadian law and international frameworks such as the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights.

Employee Awareness and Reporting

We actively train our employees on recognizing and reporting indicators of modern slavery and trafficking. Secure Flooring fosters a workplace culture that supports transparency, accountability, and protection for whistleblowers who raise concerns in good faith.

Policies and Controls

To uphold our commitment, Secure Flooring enforces the following policies:

  • Whistleblower Protection Policy: Encourages confidential reporting of any suspected unethical or illegal activities without fear of retaliation.

  • Supplier Code of Conduct: Requires all suppliers to comply with applicable labour laws and prohibit any form of forced or compulsory labour.

  • Recruitment and Employment Practices: Ensures fair hiring practices with no recruitment fees charged to workers, and respects workers’ rights to freely choose employment.

  • Fair Compensation and Working Conditions: Complies with Canadian employment standards, including minimum wage laws and safe working environments.

Secure Flooring remains dedicated to continuously improving our policies, monitoring systems, and supplier partnerships to effectively combat modern slavery and human trafficking in all areas of our business.
